Food supplies are flowing back into the Douglas region and supermarket shelves are filling with fresh produce after transport companies took advantage of the opening overnight of Ollera Creek Bridge to emergency vehicles, freight and supply vehicles only, but that is subject to changing weather conditions.

Coles Port Douglas manager David Lemon said the Coles team were working hard stocking shelves having taken advantage of the empty shelves in recent days to give the store a thorough clean.

Additional Coles staff have been flown in to assist Far North Queensland stores, while reports were circulating on Monday that 11 shipping containers of produce had been shipped to Cairns and that stock was being rolled out.

Locally, Scomazzon Farming messaged customers thanking them for their support and consideration as they worked tirelessly over the past week to keep supplies rolling out the door.

They added that they expected to have a return to their normal supplies this week.
