Northland Tax Chartered Accountants is seeking a Taxation Accountant to join our friendly and supportive team in Mossman. We specialize in business and personal tax planning, tax return preparation, auditing self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), and setting up effective business structures for asset protection.
The principal of the firm is a dual qualified Chartered Accountant and Legal Practitioner (Barrister) and the focus of the firm on high-net-worth clients will provide the team member with exposure to a broad range of clients including some international exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships
• Prepare financial statements and accounting reports
• Prepare income tax returns, BAS statements, and other financial documents
• Liaise directly with the ATO on behalf of clients
• Deliver accurate, up-to-date tax advice in line with current legislation

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Completion of the Income Tax Preparers course, or willingness to undertake it
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• In-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes
• Strong understanding of Australian tax law and statutory requirements
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive attitude and commitment to staying current with tax legislation
