Coral Sea Eyecare thanks community for 25 years of support

From its humble beginnings in the Coles Complex in the year 2000 to its modern, state-of-the-art facility on the corner of Grant and Warner Streets, the practice has stayed true to its commitment to providing personalised eyecare to the Douglas Shire.

Owner and optometrist Nicole de la Perrelle, now in her 24th year with Coral Sea Eyecare, reflects on the journey with pride.

“The real joy in our practice is the continued care of our community. We’ve been lucky enough to see many generations of patients return year after year,” she said.

Alongside optometrist Gary Venz and qualified optical dispensers Tracey Saxon, Leah Nash, and Celeste Day, the team offers comprehensive eye care services, including exams, emergency treatment, and on-site spectacle glazing and repairs

With 40+ years of combined experience and advanced technology, they manage conditions like macular degeneration, diabetes, and glaucoma, while also providing emergency care for infections and eye injuries.

“Many people think they need to travel to Cairns for specialised care, but we have the skills, technology, and expertise right here in Port Douglas,” Nicole said.
