The first act line-up announcement has been made for Savannah in the Round in Mareeba in October.

Former Australian Crawl frontman James Reyne and country vocal star Casey Chambers have been announced as two of the headline acts at the Savannah in the Round festival to be held in Mareeba in October.

Other acts to be announced today include top rock and country artists including Daryl Braithwaite, whose career has had a resurgence with the popularity of his cover song The Horses, and former X Factor and Australian Idol contestant James Johnston.

Country rock singer-songwriter Casey Barnes and veteran rock outfit Baby Animals are also featured.

Other acts include alt-country singer Fanny Lumsden, hard rockers Rose Tattoo, country vocalist Beccy Cole, popular rock outfit Chocolate Starfish, Aussie singer Amy Sheppard and alt-rock band Kingswood.

“These are the artists who bring the energy, the anthems, and the moments you’ll be talking about long after the dust settles,” the official announcement states.

“The best in live music, all in one place.

“And this is just the beginning.

“More names, more legends, and more massive announcements are still to come.”

A major US headliner is still to be revealed, the promoters say.

Savannah in the Round goes for four days from October 9-12 at Mareeba.
