It's not a shark it's a shovel nose stingray they hunt crabs in the shallow water, no teeth and yes they are very good eating.

Richie Stapleton

It's a very small non threatening shark.. everyone loves the drama!

Wangetti Trail could get Olympic boost

If it survives till then!

Never should have happened. Priority should have been the Captain Cook highway fix ups and road to Cape Tribulation. Did they actually research as to how many people would really be interested in this trail!! Unbelievable waste of taxpayer's money!

Neil Jabs

Absolute rubbish… the Wangatti trail is a monumental failure. To spend $47 million on the actual construction and then completely neglect the common sense future ongoing maintenance is the definition of insanity and stupidity. Almost every time it rains it gets washed away and collapses in numerous sections. Who pays and how much to maintain the trail in its entirety including weed control, wash outs, fallen trees, safety etc etc etc. It’s a NO brainer to immediately cease any further construction of the Wangatti trail and shelve it permanently in the tropic fragile environment. Put the money into the road which still remains a mess 16 months after Cyclone Jasper

IGA will sell lots of 2 minute noodles and the rescue chopper boys will be busy.

Anthony Christopher Renwick

In the history of modern Olympic Games has any country actually benefited?

Kim Christensen

Try fixing it properly because every rain season we have it will be washed out.

Cap for beer prices welcomed

READ THE STORY

It's a great shame its not on bottles and cans too. What about all us do gooders who are on the 0.5% beers cos we are the designated drivers? Have u seen the price of these drinks?!

Christopher Saint

Before any of you beer drinkers out there die of a heart attack, the $43 actually refers to the excise paid on a litre of pure alcohol and not a litre of beer! Then depending on the alcoholic strength of the beer the actual figure is calculated. Just doing my civic duty here - cheers!

Matty Laskey

Prices are ridiculous I hope the locals support the those that have fair prices like Paddy’s etc
