Amy Inglis has slipped into witch mode and got her cauldron bubbling away ahead of Halloween on Thursday, October 31, to conjure up some deliciously frightening treats available at her bubble tea shop, Steep.

The Macrossan Street, Port Douglas, business is just one of a growing list of businesses joining in the fun of Halloween and signing up to Newsport’s Happy Halloween Trick or Treat list… mapping out a safe and welcoming path for families to follow on the night.

The former library team leader said she has always enjoyed the fun and colour of Halloween and seeing the creative costumes people come up with.

“The kids love it and some get very creative,’’ Amy said.

“I’ve had fun creating some spooky, tasty recipes and giving them some equally creative and spooky names.

“Halloween does seem pretty big in Port Douglas… I think it is a nice community event and makes people happy.’’

Specialty bubble tea drinks at Steep for Halloween include The Bloody Temple, Zombie Brains, Poison Apple, Haunted Brew and the dessert Taro of Terror.

Amy, husband Daniel and their little terror dog Immy aren’t the only people getting into the spirit of Halloween, and more can add their outlets to the list by scanning the QR code and filling in Newsport’s Happy Halloween Trick or Treat Listings.

Parties and events are also planned around Port Douglas, Cooya Beach and Mossman.

Here’s what we know is on so far:
