What a night it was!

Great food and a mesmerising performance entertained guests recently at Palmers Sea Reef Clubhouse with an event hosted by U3A Douglas Shire, ‘An evening with Alteouise’.

Local opera singer Alteouise de Vaughn along with her Husband, Idris Alkamraikhi performed for the event with a powerful duet described to be, “another dimension of the talented couple,”.

Along with the amazing music and a delicious two course meal, many attendees were treated to prizes from the raffle held to raise funds for charity, many of the prizes being donated kindly by local businesses and community members.

“So much fun, laughter, and joyful participation; united by song… Wow what a night it was!”. Said event organiser Susan Rae on the event.

Even after a second performance and a personal interview with Ms de Vaughn, spectators were left wanting more.

To round off the night, some members of the Voices of the North choir sang a surprise ‘thankyou’ performance for Ms de Vaughn and Mr Alkamraikhi. The audience joined in singing ABBA’s ‘Thank you for the music’, a joyful conclusion to the wonderful night ‘An
