Clean up crews have been at work earlier this afternoon clearing sugar cane and re-righting a cane carrier which overturned at the Julatten turnoff, Captain Cook Highway, south of Mossman today, Monday, November 18.

Details of events which led to the accident are unclear, but Newsport Junior Reporter Byron Filmer passed by the scene and captured the aftermath.

It comes after an accident nearby on Bonnie Doon Road last Monday, November 11, when a cane truck and a Hyundai sedan collided.

Motorists are reminded to be aware of cane truck movements as the final weeks of the cane harvest play out.
