There's been some fascinating developments following the count of the Port Douglas early voting centre figures.
Damian Meadows came out on top with 1289 votes, followed by Michael Joseph Rees on 954 and Chris Barber with 922. Behind them was Roy Zammataro with 851 votes and Abigail Noli with 850 votes and Jeremy Blockey with 768 votes.
So, that now leaves us the following overall numbers: Roy Zammataro still leads the Councillor votes on 2457, ahead of new second place sitter, Damian Meadows on 2388, ahead of Abigail Noli on 2240 and fourth placed Jeremy Blockey on 1807. Bill Allison is just behind in fifth on 1728 votes.

There is a further update regarding the Councillor race. Although Port Douglas and Mossman numbers haven't been formally updated to the electoral website, the candidates' overall tallies have been updated.
As it stands Roy Zammataro is on 1606 votes, ahead of Abigail Noli on 1390, Bill Allison on 1132, Damian Meadows on 1099, Jeremy Blockey on 1039, Peter McKeown on 996 votes, Pia McKeown on 855 votes, Michael Joseph Rees on 750, followed by Terry Melchert 742, Chris Barber on 522 and Peter Wood on 309.

Mayoral voting ceases for this evening, Scomazzon on brink of becoming Douglas Shire Mayor, Zammataro leads Councillor race
Newsport understands the counting for the Mayoral role has finished for the night, with Lisa Scomazzon (54.42%) of the overall vote in the box seat ahead of David Haratsis ( 38.71%) to be the new Douglas Shire Mayor. Newsport exclusively understands that Ms Scomazzon has no intentions of calling the result tonight, and instead intends to wait until tomorrow before making any official statement.
Meantime, Roy Zammataro claimed Wonga Beach just moments ago. Roy took Wonga with 173 votes, ahead of Abigail Noli with 127 votes, Bill Allison with 118 votes and Damian Meadows with 113 votes.
In the overall Councillor race, Zammataro leads with 435 votes, ahead of Ms Noli on 344 votes, Jeremy Blockey with 309 votes and Damian Meadows on 276 votes.

Zammataro claims Miallo
Roy Zammataro has just claimed Miallo with 93 votes, ahead of Abigail Noli with 82 votes, Damian Meadows with 77 votes and Jeremy Blockey with 73 votes.
Overall in the Councillor race Roy Zammataro leads with 262 votes, ahead of Jeremy Blockey with 221, Abigail Noli with 217, Damian Meadows in fourth with 163 votes over Peter McKeown in fifth with 156 votes and Pia McKeown with 155 votes currently in sixth.

Blockey takes Diwan
Roy Zammataro is the early frontrunner in the Councillor race.
Mr Zammataro leads with 169 votes ahead of Jeremy Blockey with 148 votes and Abigail Noli with 135 votes. Pia McKeown is currently fourth with 107 votes.
Blockey just claimed Diwan with 120 votes, ahead of Zammataro with 110 and Noli with 85 votes.

Scomazzon leads Mossman
The electoral commission QLD just confirmed Lisa Scomazzon took Mossman with 413 votes ahead of Mr Haratsis with 304 votes and Stacy Wilkinson with 50 votes.
Overall Lisa Scomazzon remains in front with 2363 votes, or 54.42% of the vote. David Haratsis is second with 1681 votes or 38.71% with Stacy Wilkinson remaining in third with 298 votes or 6.86% of the vote.

In the Councillor race numbers have just come in from the Daintree. So far Roy Zammataro has claimed 16.95% of the vote with 59 votes, ahead of Abigail Noli with 50 votes, Peter McKeown with 44 votes and Pia McKeown with 30 votes.

Scomazzon claims Diwan
Just moments ago Ms Scomazzon extended her overall lead tonight by just claiming Diwan. Ms Scomazzon secured 115 votes in Diwan, ahead of Mr Haratsis 63, and Stacy Wilkinson with 24 votes.
Ms Scomazzon leads the overall Mayoral vote with 1959 votes, over Mr Haratsis with 1377 and Mr Wilkinson with 248 votes.

Early voting numbers
The early voting numbers are in and it's a very good result for Lisa Scomazzon. Ms Scomazzon claimed the early voting numbers with a staggering 1255 votes ahead of Mr Haratsis with 623 and Stacy Wilkinson with 125.
Those numbers have put Ms Scomazzon back in the lead tonight during the count. Lisa Scomazzon leads the overall voting numbers tonight with 1835, ahead of David Haratsis with 1314 and Stacy Wilkinson with 224 votes.

Haratsis ahead in Port Douglas
In a stunning development just to hand David Haratsis has snagged a whopping 506 votes to take Port Douglas over Scomazzon with 243 votes.
The comprehensive Port outcome now has Haratsis ahead overall by 691 votes to Scomazzon's with 580 votes. Percentage wise Haratsis currently leads 50.44% over Scomazzon 42.34%.

Scomazzon claims, Miallo, Daintree and Wonga Beach
The official count began at 6pm once voting closed for today. So far, it's been a very good start for Lisa Scomazzon who is up against David Haratsis and Stacy Wilkinson in the race for Douglas Shire Mayor.
So far Scomazzon has secured 185 votes, securing the first three counting areas to date to take the early lead.
Ms Scomazzon won Miallo with 108 votes to Haratsis 25, she took the Daintree with 63 votes to 46 over Haratsis and in in a more tight outcome she secured Wonga beach 166 votes to 114 over Mr Haratsis.
So overall Ms Scomazzon has secured 61.16 of the vote over Haratsis with 33.58% and third placed Stacy Wilkinson with 29 overall votes or 5.26% of the vote.
