Josh Palmer studied acting at one of the most prestigious training centres for the performing arts in the UK.

When he attended the Brit School, he immersed himself in music, theatre, musical theatre, dance, production, creative arts film, media production, visual arts and design.

Inspired by Alan Parker's 1980s film ‘Fame’ the school is very selective with its intake, but free to attend.

Brit School is notable for its celebrity alumni like actor Tom Holland and singer Adele.

Josh studied there for five years but needing to eat and pay his rent he left to do what he calls ‘normal’ jobs but still did the occasional acting part when it presented.

Overseas travel was always going to be on the agenda Josh.

“To fulfil immigration requirements I got a tour guide job on Kangaroo Island in South Australia for a year but wanted to travel north so I applied for a zookeeper’s job at Wildlife Habitat in Port and got the job," Josh said.

Through a friend of a friend he heard about the Clink Theatre's latest play in rehearsal called ‘Money and Friends’ and put his hand up to be in the cast.

Director and producer wrapped

He put his hand up for a part and was eagerly welcomed into the fold by Director Nicole Carnaby and Producer Marilyn Davison.

“Josh is a first-time performer at the Clink and we’re lucky to have him in the cast because of his training in London and for the young ones he’s a good-looking bloke, which can’t hurt,” Ms Carnaby said.

Josh plays Justin in this David Williamson offering.

“Justin is a twenty something who joins the others for a sexy weekend at holiday beach resort where four couples regularly meet to escape the hustle and bustle of city life,” Josh said.

David Williamson's 'Money and Friends' opens at the Clink July 19 and runs through to July 28.
