EARLIER: Far North investigators continue to seek public assistance in a bid to locate two children missing from Mareeba since last Thursday.

Police said the children are known to each other and are thought to be in the Cairns or Tablelands area.

Police are concerned for the pair due to their young age.

The children are Caucasian in appearance and are of slim build.

The girl is around 150cm tall with brown hair and green eyes and the boy is 145cm tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Investigators are appealing for the children or anyone with further information to contact police.
