Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 3rd, as Hemingway’s Brewery transforms the Port Douglas Marina into a lively festival for one day only! "Brews, Blues & BBQs" is a free, family-friendly event celebrating music, craft beer, and delicious BBQ food.

This festival is an evolution of the previous barbecue competition, set within the relaxed atmosphere of Hemingway’s Port Douglas. It's a perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy something unique and vibrant, which was a crucial factor in the planning according to Hemingway’s Brewery Venue Manager, Ali O’Neil.

“This event is all about celebrating the finer things in life so we wanted to emulate that with the atmosphere,” he said. “The idea is to create an experience where people can unwind, enjoy, and connect with the vibrant community here at Port Douglas.”

In true Port Douglas fashion, local businesses have come together to support the event with Malone’s Butchery jumping on board to supply produce for the day, because what’s a BBQ without locally sourced and sold meats?

What’s on the menu? Glad you asked! Hemingway’s Head Chef, Karel Polo, has put together a mouth-watering menu showcasing his worldly experience and expertise. Loaded sausages, pork or brisket sliders, skewers and stout-glazed pork ribs all grace the menu with prices starting from just $9.

Sides like loaded corn, macaroni and bacon salad, and roasted chat potatoes complement the main dishes, and vegetarians are well catered for with various meat-free options.

And, it wouldn’t be a Hemingway’s party without some exclusive brews. The brewery will debut two specialty nano brews just for the day: a Smoked Ale at 3.9% and a Rye Pale Ale at 3.5%. These exclusive brews are a must-try for craft beer enthusiasts. Additionally, Craiglie-based Devils Thumb Distillery will offer signature and specialty cocktails, showcasing regional flavours.

The event will be soundtracked by Melbourne Blues artist, Julian James as well as local favourites, Seachange, who are well-known for getting a crowd up and dancing.
