Athletics

Three local athletes have shone at the recent Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championship.

The event saw Ailbe Hamilton achieve his SB in U14 Pole Vault, Caitlyn Butland achieving her SB in U16 90m Hurdles as well as
placing 2nd in U16 Pole Vault.

Ezi Masi-Lansana also competed qualifying 3rd in his 200m heat, Ezi also competed as a team member in the U18 4 x 100m relay
alongside fellow athlete Gout Gout earning a gold medal.

Mossman Men’s Bowls - Social Competition, Saturday December 14

Dick Pitt, Mike Sims and Ted Holmes win + 2, Derek Franklin, Wayne Parkes and Troy Churchill win + 10, Bernard Savage and Bernie Wolland win + 12 and ham winners of the day Peter Worley, David Blain and Ranald Edwards win + 23.

Mossman Districts Rifle Club

Nine shooters for our double 400 match. Very hot and sunny with high humidity making conditions challenging for the competitors.

F Std: First up was Norbert Schmidt with 59.2 followed by Brendan Delaney scoring 56.2 then Bill Kromwyk shot 60.5 and Cameron Leyshon scored 51.1 followed by Rick Mischlewski shot a 51.3.

Sporter Hunter: Luke started the division scoring 49.1 then Tom Baetscher scored 50.6 and John Brentson shot 50.3 using his new sight for the first time.

In the Second Round:

F Std: Schmidt scored 62.3, up next Delaney shot 58.2 followed by Kromwyk on 64.4 then Leyshon shot 59.4 and Rick Mischlewski scored 60.3.

Sporter Hunter: Luke up first scored 47.0 followed by Baetscher with a perfect score of 55.11 then Brentson shot 49.2.
