The holiday season will be brighter for many in Far North Queensland as the annual Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal marks its 20th year of supporting those in need.

Beneficiaries of this year’s appeal include the Douglas Shire community, Salvation Army Cairns, and St Vincent de Paul Cairns, with all donations helping to make the season special for families and individuals experiencing hardship.

Tony Baker, Managing Director of the Quicksilver Group, expressed pride in the appeal’s enduring legacy.

“This year marks 20 years since our annual Christmas Charity Appeal first began in 2004 and over the years we’re exceptionally proud of what has been achieved,” Mr Baker said.

“Along with the wonderful support and generosity of our local suppliers, industry colleagues and the company’s 500 strong staff, food and gifts donated will assist the charities in making this time of year brighter for less fortunate and vulnerable members of our community.”

All goods are distributed directly by the charities to families and individuals in need.

This year, the Salvation Army alone are preparing hampers for 500 local families and individuals and we hope this will make a difference to many.
