Oaks Port Douglas Resort is putting locals front and center with an exciting new menu and a packed calendar of events designed to bring the community together.

The upcoming New Year’s Day BBQ will set the tone for a year of celebration. For just $35 per person and $15 for kids, guests can indulge in unlimited food from 12.00pm to 3.00pm.

Enjoy live entertainment from a local performer, keep the kids entertained with activities, and even have a chance to win an Experience Oz Adventures tour worth $500.

The resort’s revamped Oak & Vine Restaurant menu, blends the signature Oaks dining experience, featuring classic favourites like chicken parmigiana and Caesar salad alongside regional specialties such as barramundi and Tablelands beef cheek.

The culinary experience is guided by Head Chef Giorgio Agosti, whose Italian heritage subtly influences the menu and shines through at The Little Pizza Company, the resort’s onsite pizzeria.

Working alongside Giorgio is Food & Beverage Manager Justin Bourke, who joined the resort four months ago, bringing over a decade of experience in local hospitality.

Mr Bourke  is passionate about keeping the resort firmly connected to the local community, with a focus on creating a space where residents feel welcome and valued.

“We want Oaks Port Douglas to feel like an extension of the local community, a place where locals can come to relax, celebrate, and enjoy great food,” he said.

To make dining even more accessible, the resort has partnered with SR Coaches to offer complimentary transport to and from the Port Douglas Road location for any dining reservation.

“It’s about making it easy for locals to visit us and enjoy what we have on offer. Just book a table online, call SR Coaches on the day, show your booking and local ID, and you’re set,” Mr Bourke explained.

Looking ahead, Mr Bourke hinted at an exciting calendar of monthly events, which he is developing in close collaboration with Robyn Buick, the resort’s Events Coordinator.

Ms Buick, who also recently joined the team, brings extensive local knowledge and a shared passion for creating memorable experiences for the community.

“It’s a full locals team here and we’re planning events that will genuinely resonate with our community, pool parties, themed celebrations, and live music by the pool,” Mr Bourke said.
