Mossman residents have been reminded to be ‘croc wise’ and to act responsibly around local waterways after a confirmed crocodile sighting just a short time ago in the local area.

“We wish to advise that a recent sighting by members of the public have spotted a bilngkumu (saltwater crocodile) at Foxton River in Mossman travelling north,” a Jabalbina spokesperson said.

“Jabalbina rangers have visited the location and erected signage.

“Jabalbina rangers will investigate this report and work closely with DES.

“We ask everyone to be bilngkumu-wise in bilngkumu-country as high water levels during the wet season, provide prime opportunities for them to travel.”
