It was a complete sell out show and the hottest ticket in town back in April and when the curtain finally went down on this sparkling local production, theatre goers thought that was it. But unbelievably it’s coming back for a second limited run from August 25-28 and September 1-4.

‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical’ broke all box office records for the Clink in Port Douglas and took local theatre to another level.

While many got to see this spectacular production, lots missed out when the sold-out sign went up, prompting the Douglas Theatre Arts Group to round up the original cast and ask them to do it all over again. The answer was a resounding yes!

The director of Priscilla, Michael Kerr told Newsport “I’m thrilled to be able to bring this amazing show back to the Clink Theatre due to such popular demand” he said.

“I have had so many people say that they missed out due to covid or just couldn’t get tickets” Mr Kerr said “it’s a wonderful story that has clearly resonated with the community and the cast of talented locals are so excited to be bringing the production back to life.

I’m absolutely thrilled at the feedback and support the local community has given our small theatre group, but I have to say we may be small, but we always aim and deliver big”. And big is the right word to use, with many locals and visitors dubbing the show on par with capital city productions.

The magnificent costumes complimented the local cast’s talents in singing and dancing and it caused audiences to give genuine standing ovations at every show.

Principals return

The 3 main principals return with Shaun Cram as the feisty Bernadette, Ben Hardie as Tick and Mitzi and Kameron Arthur as Adam and the naughty Felicia. Kameron was the real find in the show having never acted before and wowing audiences with his on-stage skills. The Douglas Theatre Arts Group has applied for the licence to bring Priscilla back for only 8 more shows.

“I know that tickets will sell out very quickly, so if you missed out the first time, get onto the Clink website in 2 days’ time and get your ticket, as this is your very last chance to see this wonderful show here in Port Douglas” Mr Kerr said.

Ticket sales open this Friday morning 20th May at 9am
