For thirty years, the Iron Bar has proudly stood as the sole steakhouse in town and the epicentre of Port Douglas nightlife, now aiming to recapture the essence of the venue's glory days.

With a goal to reconnect with its multifaceted origins, owner Shane Loughnan is leading the charge to revitalise the venue. This involves restoring its status as a hub with a gaming bar, steakhouse dining, and top-tier live entertainment

With the venue’s event calendar brimming with excitement once again, the Iron Bar is reclaiming its status as the town's premier entertainment destination.

“We aim to create a vibrant party ambiance where people can enjoy catchy tunes and sing along late into the night,” Mr Loughnan stated.

Tuesdays have been christened ‘Hospo Night’ running from 9.00pm to 1.00am, reclaiming its status as a gathering place for hospitality workers.

“I initially established Iron Bar as a hospitality worker myself, recognising the lack of options for fellow industry workers in town,” Mr Loughnan reflected. “Today we continue serving the local staff community in Port Douglas.”

Thursdays pulsate with Latin rhythms as the venue hosts lively parties from 9.00pm to 1.00am. Saturdays resonate with the sounds of live bands, a deliberate choice by Mr Loughnan to preserve the venue’s live music tradition.

Amidst all the entertainment, Iron Bar's steakhouse maintains its legendary status for its dry-aged steaks.

These succulent cuts promise a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and rich, dense beefy flavour, thanks to a meticulous ageing process that takes place in the fridge for several months.

“We’re proud to be one of the few steakhouses in the area offering dry-aged meat,” Mr Loughnan said. “Our steaks are grilled to perfection in a Spanish Josper grill and oven, using sustainable mangrove charcoal to infuse that irresistible grill essence and lock in all the juicy goodness.”

In a nod to their commitment to the community, Iron Bar has adjusted their steak prices to ensure they remain accessible to everyone. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy our delicious steaks, regardless of the cost of living.”

For those eager to plan their nights out, the complete events calendar can be viewed on Iron Bar's website, promising a schedule packed with entertainment and excitement. For lunch or dinner you can book here.
