Just moments ago, after decades behind the mic and in front of the camera in a host of media roles, the Douglas Shire’s own Paul Makin hung the headphones up for the final time.

Paul told his loyal Douglas FM listeners a month ago, that today, June 28 would be his final ever day on radio, with the accomplished media performer now set to enjoy the fruits of serious retirement, including travel, housesitting and of course, rewatching every episode of Seinfeld.

Newsport spoke with Paul after he came off air for the last time.
