Following another rainy week it was hot with a slight breeze for the seven shooters on the mound for our double 700 match. F Std: First up was Norbert Schmidt with 57.4 followed by Brendan Delaney scoring 57.2 then Cameron Leyshon on 54.1 and Bill Kromwyk shooting a 57.2. Sporter Hunter: Tom Baetscher was first up in his division with a good opening round of 50.5 followed by John Brentson with 48.4. Target Rifle: Frank Chester had a mixed round with 48.1. In the second round: F Std: Schmidt shot 62.2, then Delaney scored 65.7 followed by Leyshon with 65.6 and Kromwyk scored a very nice 66.6. Sporter Hunter: Baetscher had a great round scoring an impressive 55.8 then Brentson also scored pretty well with 55.4. The Semi Finals were played at the same course being currently played on the PGA Tour, Harbour Town. It proved to be pretty difficult, but 3 of the 4 teams broke their handicaps, so perhaps we need to find some harder challenges for this seasoned group of players? Les's team will be going up against Troy & Alex next week for all the glory in the Grand Final. It will be 18 holes around the very fitting Match Play Championship venue of many years on the Tour, The Austin Country Club in Texas. This course is famous for sloping fairways and plenty of water, so teams will have to be at their absolute best. As a Grand Final should be. Good luck to all players. We will be looking for new teams to compete in the next League very soon, so please get your golfing buddies ready to go and drop by the shop in Grant St to register your interest. | ||

Alec/Gazza defeated Jack/Les in a playoff 17 pts each. Rex/Tully defeated Tim/Paul 25 pts to 23 pts Troy/Alex defeated Jack/Les 22 pts to 20 pts |
Games this week were played around the best 9 holes from The Belfry. First time player Gazza was very popular with his partner Alec after he hit the nearest the pin playoff hole to take the match after a tie. Rex and Tully finally got a great win against Tim and Paul even though Paul made eagle on the famous short par 4, 10th hole, it wasn't enough. This was the final week of the round games and semifinals will be next week, followed by the grand final the week after. After that, we will be on the lookout for some new teams to join us in competition. Please drop by our Grant St store to declare your interest. We had a hot and breezy day and the range is starting to dry out making conditions for the 12 shooters more comfortable for our Double 500 match.
