Stop the presses! Wonga & Daintree students shine on and off the field at Cairns Sports Spectacular
SCHOOL WRAP

Students from Wonga Beach and Daintree State Schools had an action-packed day at the Cairns Sports Spectacular, diving into a variety of sports and hands-on learning experiences alongside professional coaches.
The event provided an exciting platform for students to develop new skills, boost their confidence, and engage in teamwork-driven activities.
But the day wasn’t just about athleticism, it was a learning experience both on and off the field.
As part of their Media Arts and Technology unit, students stepped into the role of young journalists, capturing interviews, filming highlights, and documenting the event.
This immersive approach to learning will shape their upcoming documentary projects, helping them refine storytelling techniques through film.
By integrating health, physical education, and media studies, the excursion reinforced real-world skills that extend beyond the classroom.
