Michela Scacchi, Marketing and Partnership Executive at TPDD, emphasised the event’s role in strengthening local connections and increasing awareness of tourism offerings.

“We’re inviting locals from across the Shire – whether you work in a restaurant, café, retail shop, or a trades business, TPDD encourages everyone to come along and explore what’s available,” Ms Scacchi said. 

“We’re all part of the tourism experience, and whether it's through casual conversations with visitors or as part of our daily work, we can all support each other by sharing the amazing experiences we have to offer here in Douglas Shire,” Ms Scacchi added.

“Ultimately, tourism is about creating great experiences and lasting memories. This event is a step toward strengthening the industry and fostering a more connected local community.”

Previously held every two years at the Port Douglas Community Hall, the event will now take place in the spacious conference room at Oaks Port Douglas Resort, offering a more immersive and engaging experience.

“Oaks has been incredibly supportive of the local community, and we’re excited to host the event there this year. The added food and beverage facilities will enhance the experience for everyone attending,” Ms Scacchi said.

What to expect

The expo runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, welcoming guests with a complimentary drink before they explore the showcase and meet exhibitors.

A major highlight is the prize giveaway, where attendees can win 25 experience vouchers, including helicopter flights, sunset sailing, reef tours, and ziplining, by completing a fun quiz while engaging with exhibitors.
