UPDATE: Power has been restored to almost all of the 1350 Port Douglas properties that had been in the dark without power when outages started from around 6:50am on Wednesday, February 12, with Ergon Energy crews working to make an emergency fix and search for faults.

Streets impacted by the outage were:

Agincourt St, Arlington Cl, Ashford Ave, Beryl St, Blake St, Captain Cook Hwy, Craven Cl, Davidson St, Egret Cl, Endeavour St, Escape St, Garrick St, Grant St, Hope St, Inlet Rd, Island Point Rd, Macrossan St, Mahogany St, Mowbray St, Morning Cl, Mudlo St, Murphy St, Opal St, Osprey Cl, Owen St, Port Douglas Rd, Port St, Ribbon Ave, Ruby Cl, Spinnaker Cl, St Crispins Ave, Ti-Tree St, Undine St, Warner St, Wharf St.

Zoe Gibson, via Newsport’s Facebook page added that “Cooya had flickering but power stayed on” around the time of the outage.

An Ergon Energy spokesperson, at 8.10am, said Ergon crews had been dispatched and were patrolling the line trying to locate the fault.
