FLOOD WARNING: Palm Cove to Babinda
Flood advice
The Cairns Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has issued a Minor Flood Warning for the Mulgrave River and Flood Warning for the Russell River.
Over the last week, high rainfall totals have saturated the Mulgrave and Russell catchments, which has caused river level rises and flooding.
Several low-lying roads across the region have temporarily closed due to flooding.
Closures could be impacted by tide movements which were set to peak around 2pm today, Tuesday, February 4.
Heavy rainfall is forecast to persist about the tropical east coast and adjacent inland areas, which may cause renewed or further flooding depending on the location of the heaviest falls.
The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
For flood and storm emergency help, call the SES on 132 500 or download the SES Assistance QLD app.
