NEWSPORT NEWSFEED: Ready for the ride of their lives
Friday, December 27
A group of young Douglas Shire cyclists are riding high after brushing up on their cycling skills during a recent workshop.
Close to 20 enthusiastic children took part in a day of education, adventure, and fun at the Rainforest n Reef Cycling Club.
The course was an opportunity for young riders to gain hands-on experience in bike maintenance and essential mountain-biking skills.
By the end of the day, riders were equipped with knowledge and confidence to care for their bikes and tackle trails with newfound expertise.
Rainforest n Reef Cycling Club president Daniel Inglis said local businesses, including Bike Shop and Hire, helped to put on the Kids Maintenance Skills Course.
“Seeing the excitement and enthusiasm in these kids is a reminder of why we do what we do,” Mr Inglis said.
“We can inspire the next generation of cyclists and grow the love for this amazing sport.”
Steve Rankin from Bike n Hike Adventure Tours brought a new level of expertise with his skills around the Jungle Jumps Skills Park.
Each participant also received a gift pack containing essential items to help kickstart their cycling journey.
