Hilton’s new Palm Cove resort promises to boost local tourism
Luxury expansion
Palm Cove is poised for a transformative chapter in its history with the announcement of Hilton’s upcoming Palm Cove Cairns Resort & Spa. Slated to open in early 2026, the 140-room resort will combine luxurious modern amenities with the natural beauty of this serene coastal village.
Strategically situated between Cairns and Port Douglas, the resort promises an exceptional guest experience. Highlights include a resort-style outdoor pool, two high-end dining venues, a world-class spa, and 450 square meters of versatile event space, making it ideal for everything from weddings to corporate retreats. Developed in partnership with Tyche Asset Management, this project underscores Hilton’s confidence in Palm Cove as a top-tier tourist destination.
Mr. Tushar Raniga, Hilton Australasia’s Regional Director of Development, remarked: “Palm Cove, with its vibrant local economy and growing tourism sector, presents a significant market opportunity. We’re thrilled to bring Hilton’s renowned hospitality to this stunning location.”
The resort’s opening aligns with a broader tourism boom in Tropical North Queensland. With the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest on its doorstep, Palm Cove has long been a sought-after destination. The new Hilton project will likely attract luxury travelers while boosting the region’s economy by creating jobs and supporting local businesses.
Adding an extra layer of intrigue, the Hilton Palm Cove Cairns Resort & Spa will also embrace sustainable practices, aligning with the global push for environmentally conscious tourism. Early concept designs suggest features such as energy-efficient systems, locally sourced materials, and programs to support the protection of nearby natural attractions like the reef and rainforest.
Excitement is already brewing among residents and businesses, with many hopeful this development will cement Palm Cove’s reputation as the jewel of Tropical North Queensland.
This development will not only enhance the local economy but also provide new job opportunities, further strengthening Palm Cove's position as a premier travel destination.
