She’s conquered the Far North, made quick work of Melbourne and now Mossman’s favourite daughter has her sights set on the bright lights of Broadway – and she’d love your help to get there.

More than 12 months after she relocated down south to pursue her singing career Kirsty Burchill could never have dreamt she’d now be on the cusp of a performance in New York, New York as part of a collaboration with other like-minded artists and a man with a very famous surname.

That’s exactly what awaits the former Douglas Shire product as part of the Beautiful Souls Collective – a group of 12, talented performers from various multicultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Pacific Islanders who share a common love for music.

The group is slated to perform in New York on September 17 alongside none other than Lionel Cole – a huge supporter and driving force of the Beautiful Souls collective.

“I’m beyond excited to be asked to perform with Lionel and the Collective in New York – this truly is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Kirsty told Newsport.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I have ever thought this might ever be a possibility.”

The looming Broadway performance will double as a 2025 pre Grammy nomination in support of Mr Cole. If the Cole surname sounds familiar, you would be correct. Lionel is the cousin to Natalie Cole and nephew of the legendary, Nat King Cole.

The group also intends to return to the US in November for a further seven show tour.

If that’s not enough the Beautiful Souls are hopeful of staging a concert in Cairns on August 17 to raise travel funds for both future trips.

Local businesses or stakeholders interested in assisting or sponsoring Kirsty’s future travel expenses to the Big Apple or the US November trip, can contact her direct on 0478010962. Genuine enquiries only please.
