Changing of the guard with new faces to guide Douglas Heat basketball club
NEW LOOK

The Douglas heat basketball club has seen quite a drastic change recently with its entire board of committee members stepping down, opening the door for some fresh blood to take over and inject some life into the club.
After 10 years of committed and loyal service former president Steve Hull has stepped down.
The Douglas Heat has since welcomed a completely new committee with young Jake Black being given the role of club president.
Taylah Harper has been introduced as vice president, Ian Harris is treasurer, while Paul Wrobel, Jess Bastion and Cheryl McLean were inducted as committee members.
The Douglas Heat basketball club has tasted some success recently in their competitions to ease the roles for the new members nicely, playing Atherton twice in two months and dominating in both carnivals, winning most of their games comfortably.
After hearing about this success, the Cairns Clubs' want a piece of Port Douglas now.
They now take on Mulgrave basketball on Sunday, October 15 in Smithfield, then they play in Port Douglas on October 28.
Even with all this success and the new board helpers are always needed and encouraged to come down and try learning some new skills.
