JOIN THE CROWD: Oaks Port Douglas Resort emerges as the town's hottest gathering spot
BUSINESS FEATURE

A place where locals can come together, enjoy great entertainment and feel a strong sense of belonging. This is the objective of Paul Parrant, the recently appointed General Manager of Oaks Port Douglas Resort: to restore the resort to its former status as a thriving community hub.
Mr Parrant is embarking on a mission to rejuvenate the local community's connection with the resort.
Armed with a fresh food & beverage team and innovative concepts, he is determined to offer appealing perks that will make Oaks Port Douglas Resort a go-to spot for the community.
The new plan incorporates live music events, weekly dinner specials, extended restaurant hours, a new menu and longer pool access times.
Mr Parrant said that they acknowledge the lack of variety for the local community.
“We understand that many are under financial strain, and our sincere desire is to make it easier for them to return to our resort, a place where they once found joy,” Mr Parrant said.

Exciting things happening
Staying true to their commitment, exciting things are in the pipeline at Oaks Port Douglas Resort.
Tim Griffin
Over the coming months, the resort has an exciting lineup for visitors.
Award-winning artist Tim Griffin, known for his expertise in Blues, Americana, and Soul classics, will be enchanting guests with his musical talents during weekly Blues Nights.
You can catch Tim Griffin's performances on September 11-14, October 16-19, and November 6-9, all starting at 5 pm in the Main Bar at Oaks Port Douglas Resort.
These musical evenings coincide with the resort’s daily happy hours between 5pm and 6pm, offering spirits and schooners for just $6, ensuring a budget-friendly experience for all guests.
Rugby World Cup
With the ongoing excitement surrounding the Rugby World Cup, Oaks Port Douglas Resort is the ultimate destination to immerse yourself in the action.
Both locals and resort guests have the chance to win Rugby World Cup merchandise, including polo shirts.
When you dine at the resort's restaurant, Oak & Vine, you'll receive tokens for every $10 you spend, which can be used for a chance to win Rugby World Cup items throughout the tournament.
Our Shout & Holy Schnit
Staying true to offering weekly dinner specials, by Mid September Oak & Vine introduces two exciting dinner deals for locals and resort guests alike.
Our Shout: Order a main course meal and receive a 1st pour beverage on the house. Every Wednesday night from 6.00pm to 8.30pm.
Holy Schnit: Every Thursday night schnitzel with chips, salad and gravy and your choice of schooner of Great Northern or glass of Rothbury wine for $26 per person.
New menu
Even more exciting things are coming up as the resort will soon launch a brand-new restaurant menu.
The culinary team has been enhanced with the arrival of the highly accomplished chef, Mark McKeown, who has recently returned to Port Douglas.
“Mark is renowned for his culinary expertise, exceptional flavours, and innovative creations, promising to elevate the resort's dining experience to new heights,” Mr Parrant remarked.
In addition to the new menu, the resort is set to expand its side business, The Little Pizza Company. They plan to introduce pizza delivery services, utilising the existing delivery van, which only requires a driver to get rolling.
Be sure to keep an eye on the resort; it's destined to be a lively and vibrant spot with plenty more exciting events in the pipeline for 2024 at Oaks Port Douglas Resort. So stay tuned!
