Douglas Shire residents to unite for ANZAC Day

Locals will unite tomorrow to remember, honour and pay tribute to the fallen at annual ANZAC Day services across the Douglas Shire.

This year will mark the 108th anniversary of the Anzacs' Gallipoli landing.

In Mossman, a dawn service will be held at the Mossman Cenotaph on Front St from 5.15am.

In Port Douglas, the Douglas Shire community is invited to gather at Port Village, Macrossan St at 10am with the march towards the cenotaph to start at 10.15am.

Official proceedings will start at the cenotaph in ANZAC Park from 10:30am.

At Cow Bay the community is invited to meet at My Pathways car park (1475 Cape Tribulation Road) at 4:35am for a march to the Cow Bay Cenotaph - official proceedings will get underway there from 5:00am.

Meantime, a number of services are also set down for Cairns as well.

The annual dawn service will start from 5.30am at the Cenotaph on the Cairns Esplanade, while the Services Parade will get underway from 7:30am at Fogarty Park, before heading to the Esplanade past the RSL.

At Trinity Beach, a commemoration service will get underway at 5.30am.
