Local student leaders ready to take on responsibility

Student Leaders at Wonga Beach State School were inducted at last Friday’s ceremony, preparing them for their positions this school year.
Principal Emma Tait said they were honoured to have Deputy Mayor Lisa Scomazzon present the students’ with their badges.
“We are very proud of their work so far, and can’t wait to see what incredible ideas and projects they deliver in 2023”, Ms Tait said.
She added that she was very excited to work with the leaders on the Student Council this year, “as they are already showing a lot of promise and initiative as they step into their roles.

Student services team introduced at Mossman State High School
At Mossman State High School students are ensured to get the best support as a team of highly motivated staff has come together to engage students.
As the school takes the support of students seriously, they recently added a number of people to the staff whose sole focus is on supporting and engaging students and families.
The Student Services Team consists of two Guidance Officers, three Heads of Department, a School Based Health Nurse, a Social Worker, a Community Education Counsellor, a Youth Worker and a Transitional Pathways Officer.
The team is spearheaded by Principal Annie Murie who has recognised the needs within our community and is ensuring that every student who attends Mossman State High School has the prime opportunity to be effectively supported to gain a fantastic education and identify extensive future pathways.
According to MsMurrie the team shares a wealth of knowledge, capability and life experiences “ensuring that students are receiving the very best support that Mossman State High School can offer”.
