Family's privacy the focus as recovery mission continues
RECOVERY MISSION
Queensland police confirmed just moments ago that the body of the missing 54 year-old woman is still yet to be discovered in waters at Mossman Gorge.
Search teams have been trying to locate the missing woman since just before 2pm last Friday when an onlooker spotted the swimmer in distress in waters at the gorge.
Police also confirmed they won't be offering any further public updates about the ongoing search in a sign of respect to those closely attached to this situation.
"To respect the privacy of the woman’s bereaved family, no further updates on the recovery phase will be provided until after it has been completed," QPS said.
A frantic search and rescue, and subsequent recovery mission has been in place for a number of days with Police, Police divers, Swift water rescue team, SES and National Parks all taking part in trying to locate the missing woman.
Just days ago Police located and identified ‘four pieces of interest’ during the search, but did not reveal what they specifically were.
