A man in his 70s remains in a stable condition at Cairns hospital this afternoon following a pedestrian and motor vehicle incident in Port Douglas.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Davidson Road and Mowbray Steet to find a male with serious arm injuries just after 6.20pm yesterday evening.

A QAS spokesperson confirmed the 79 year-old patient was consequently transported to Mossman Hospital and later airlifted by helicopter to Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
