Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas has teamed up with local charity, Mossman Hospital Friends of the Foundation, to put on a truly spectacular Melbourne Cup event next Tuesday, the 2nd of November.

Immerse yourself in the glitz and glamour while enjoying the air-conditioned comfort of Feast Restaurant with views of the resort’s beautiful blue lagoons as you watch the race that stops the nation.

From 12pm to 2.30pm, you will enjoy a welcome drink and canapés on arrival, followed by a decadent seafood buffet and beverage package of wine, beer and soft drinks.

Sheraton Grand Mirage’s signature seafood buffet will feature a live interactive sushi and sashimi station and the buffet will be loaded with fresh local produce, including Cooktown Prawns, Moreton Bay Bugs, Coffin Bay Oysters, local Sand Crab, Salmon, Tuna and more.

The amazing volunteers from Mossman Hospital Friends of the Foundation will be there with sweeps, raffles and horse auctions with all proceeds going to improve health services at the Mossman Hospital. $10 from every ticket will also be donated to the charity.

“Community is at the heart of Sheraton Grand Mirage and we are thrilled to partner with local charities like Mossman Hospital Friends of the Foundation which engages with community events that bring people together,” shared Steve Molnar, General Manager of Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas.

In addition to backing the winning steed at this year’s event, you can also win an array of prizes including a two night stay in a Spa Studio Room at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast, one night stay at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas, Sailaway Outer Reef tour for two, Daintree River Cruise Centre Family tour for 2 adults and 3 children, $100 Casa Mia Homewares voucher, and much more!

Friends of the Foundation are community volunteers that support the non-profit charitable organisation, Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation. Since its inception in 1997, the organisation has contributed more than $23 million to improving health care in the Far North. All its administrative costs are paid through commercial operations, meaning every dollar donated or contributed through fundraising goes towards its intended purpose.
