A group of local kids set up a cheerful lemonade stand on Port Douglas Road last week, right across from the Sheraton, bringing fun and smiles to passing drivers during the school holidays.

Joined by their cousins visiting from Brisbane, the kids had the whole family involved, with Aunty Prue making the lemonade and one of the mums standing out front holding a lemonade sign to wave cars down.

“The kids just like to do it for fun,” said Hanna, one of the mums with the sign. “If they make someone smile, that is enough.”

The stand was full of energy and laughter, including a random photo of US actor and wrestler John Cena placed on the table.

There was no reason for it, but it gave everyone a good laugh.
