Police News

The body of a man who went missing in Tinaroo Dam at Yungaburra two days ago has been found by police and other emergency rescue crews.
The 62-year-old man swam out to help two children on kayaks but failed to resurface after going under.
Emergency services were called just after 3.30pm on Sunday, April 13, following reports of the missing man.
An extensive search by police, water police, SES volunteers, a dive squad, a rescue helicopter, and swift water rescue crews was launched, which continued until about 8pm, then began again at first light yesterday morning.
The body of the man was found yesterday, with the death not being treated as suspicious.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
