NEWSPORT NEWSFEED: Croc Brandt back out of retirement
Wednesday, November 20
They say of football retirees that you are “a long time out of football”… but that seems unlikely for Port Douglas Crocs most recent retiree, Crathern Medallist Liam Brandt.
The Crocs yesterday introduced its 2025 senior men’s coaching team, which includes Brandt as assistant playing coach.
“Yes, you read that right, the great man is going around for another season,’’ the post said.
Brandt, 30, had announced his retirement at the end of last season when he collected his second AFL Cairns Crathern Medal as best and fairest.
Other appointments for the Crocs leadership team are Nick Salter who will continue on as senior coach with Lee Staple as assistant coach.
Daniel Moore will be midfield coach and Shannon Gleeson as specialist coach.
“Together, this team bring a wealth of knowledge and passion for both the sport and the club and are willing to go the extra mile to support and mentor the players and get the team where it deserves to be,’’ the club’s post added.
