AFL Cape York House Foundation gratefully acknowledges the generous and ongoing contributions from Pacific Toyota, a long-standing supporter of the Foundation’s work with Indigenous youth.
Pacific Toyota, under the ownership of Leon and Paula Richardson, has been a consistent partner, making charitable donations that continue to help the Foundation deliver its programs aimed towards social and emotional wellbeing activities for students.
AFL Cape York House Foundation supports Indigenous youth in completing their education through its award-winning Model of Care, offering a culturally appropriate, safe boarding environment for students.
The Foundation provides education, life skills, and leadership programs that foster the personal and academic growth of young Indigenous Australians.
Pacific Toyota dealer principal Leon Richardson said that since taking ownership over five years ago, he and his wife Paula have continued the previous owner’s legacy of community support and philanthropy, particularly with AFL Cape York.
“We love being involved with AFL Cape York – Rick and all the team are fantastic,” Leon said.
“Over the years we have engaged in staff training sessions, donated vehicles for learner driver lessons, and attended events like the golf days and the Stand Up Against Domestic and Family Violence High Tea.”
Pacific Toyota have also supported AFL Cape York House Foundation through charitable donations, donating prizes for raffles and events, and providing work experience opportunities for the young people of the boarding houses.
“It’s important to us to be involved in supporting good causes and sport in the region,” Leon said.
“The work Rick and the team do through AFL Cape York and the boarding houses is critical and we are proud to support that.”
AFL Cape York House general manager Rick Hanlon OAM expressed his appreciation for the dealership’s unwavering commitment.
“We’ve had a long association with Pacific Toyota, and their support has been vital to the success of our initiatives,” he said.
“Leon and Paula have continued the dealership’s legacy of giving back to the community, consistently contributing to our programs through events like our golf days and our 'Stand Up Against Domestic Violence' High Tea.”
Leon and Paula Richardson’s continuous philanthropic contributions have helped the Foundation run vital programs that impact the lives of Indigenous youth across the Cape York region, and the foundation remains deeply grateful for their involvement.
