The local community has been generous this Christmas with a stack of presents donated for the Douglas Shire Council's fourth annual Toy Dive which aims to provide Christmas gifts for local children in need under the tree at the Mossman Pool.

All those who donated were treated to free admission to the pool, encouraging people to bring gifts and cool down from the heat.

Last year's event saw 132 gifts donated to the families in need despite the challenges surrounding Cyclone Jasper.

The overall goal of the Mossman Pool team is to ensure every child in the Douglas Shire wakes up to a present under the tree.
