NEW MANAGER AT MANTRA AQUEOUS
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, Emelia Rockliff has recently been appointed as the new manager at Mantra Aqueous Port Douglas.
After completing her business management and marketing degree at QUT In Brisbane, Ms Rockliff joined Accor as a Guest Service Agent at Sebel Twin Waters, quickly progressing to become Rooms Division Manager at Peppers Noosa.
Falling in love with Tropical North Queensland during a secondment as General Manager in Airlie Beach, she eagerly embraced the opportunity to relocate to Port Douglas.
“I had never been this far north so it was an absolute leap of faith,” Ms Rockliff told Newsport.
“All I knew is that I wanted to be somewhere that always felt like Summer and was full of places to go explore. It was not until I arrived here that I realised Port Douglas also has the most incredible community.
“It has been an easy adjustment, being surrounded by so many other Accor properties certainly helps and the people I have connected with so far have all made me feel very much at home.
“So far I have been to Mossman Gorge and snorkelling at Low Isles. Next on the list will be the Daintree and hopefully a bit of camping up the Cape.”
Ms Rockliff's dynamic nature is evident in her proactive approach since assuming her managerial role. She has already overseen the replacement of the resort's pool furniture, with new umbrellas scheduled to be installed in the coming weeks in preparation for the peak season.
"In the upcoming months, we will also be embarking on a lobby refurbishment project to give it a fresh and rejuvenated look," she shared.
